Driveway landscaping that frames the house. Northwest Atlanta.
Custom driveways, columns, gates, plantings, and lighting. Design and installation managed by our East Cobb team, with someone to call after the work is done.
The driveway is the first thing every guest sees. And the last thing most landscapers think about.
Every dollar of a backyard build hides behind the house. The entrance is the part everyone actually drives past. On most estimates it still gets whatever budget is left. That's why so many nice houses sit behind fronts that never caught up. We build the front like it's the point. Because to everyone pulling in, it is.
We treat the whole approach as one build. Columns proportioned to the front door, not louder than it. Plantings that hold their shape past three seasons. Warm lighting at dusk, not runway floodlights. Jay joins the pre-project walkthrough, and GreenTree manages the work from the agreed quote through the finished build.
What booking a walkthrough actually gets you.
Four steps, no surprises. The same process on every driveway we build.
Walkthrough
We come out, walk the front of the property, listen, and tell you honestly what's possible at what range. No high-pressure sale. No deposit asked for at the curb.
Fixed plan
Drawings of the driveway and entrance, materials, a written scope, and a fixed price. You see what you're paying for before you sign anything. The plan you sign is the entrance you get.
Build
Our crew, on site daily. One project lead reachable by phone. You keep access to the driveway the whole time, or we stage so you can park nearby. We plan that in before the dig starts, not after.
Finish + warranty
Final walkthrough with you on the property. Written workmanship coverage. One phone number for the life of the project if anything needs attention.
"We hired Greentree to build a gated entrance to our property. From design to execution, we couldn't be more pleased. The stone work was amazing and the landscape ideas were perfect."– Read our reviews on Google →

GreenTree has judged its own work the same way for more than ten years: from the curb, the way a first-time guest sees it. If an entrance doesn't read right from the street, no amount of planting fixes it. And it's not just homes: we build and refresh neighborhood and HOA entrances across Northwest Atlanta, too. So our team looks at every driveway project from out front, seeing what a first-time guest sees.
That view cuts both ways. Your neighbors see the entrance every single day. You see it every time you come home. So we walk it twice before anything gets drawn, once from the street looking in and once from the front door looking back. Most crews never look back from the door. It shows.
Inside Driveway Landscaping at GreenTree.
Five categories of work, managed by GreenTree and built by our dedicated team.
Custom Driveways
First decide whether you need a new driving surface, a better entrance, or both. Vehicle access, the existing grade, and where rainwater flows affect the scope. Surface material is one choice within that larger plan.
Driveway Entrances
Look at the approach from the street and from the house. The entrance should feel connected to the home, with room to turn and a clear view when leaving. Planting, stonework, and lighting can be considered together.
Columns & Gates
The opening needs to suit the vehicles that use it, and the columns should fit the scale of the entrance. A powered gate also brings equipment and electrical needs. Talk through access and operation before settling on the look.
Plantings & Beds
Planting should frame the approach without crowding the drive or blocking visibility as it grows. Sun, available space, and maintenance preferences help narrow the choices. A planting plan can tie the entrance into the rest of the property.
Lighting
Entrance lighting helps identify the drive and makes the approach easier to see after dark. Placement matters as much as brightness. Consider the gate, columns, and nearby paths along with how the lights will look from the house and street.
What people ask before they book.
How much does custom driveway landscaping cost in Atlanta?
Driveway and entrance projects start at $20,000. Most of our work runs north of $40,000. The big price drivers are length of the drive, whether the surface gets replaced or just landscaped around, columns and gates, planting density, and lighting. Gates add real money. If you're shopping a $5,000 bed refresh at the mailbox, we're not the right call, and we'll point you to someone who is.
What's the difference between a driveway and a driveway entrance?
The driveway is the surface you drive on. Concrete, pavers, asphalt, stamped, or exposed aggregate. The driveway entrance is the whole first impression where it meets the street. Columns, gate (if there is one), plantings on either side, lighting, the mailbox setting, sometimes signage. GreenTree builds both, and most of our work in this category is the entrance, not just the surface.
Do you do the driveway itself or just the landscaping around it?
Both. We pour and lay driveway surfaces. Concrete, pavers, stamped, exposed aggregate, depending on the project. And we build the landscaping that frames it. Most projects are a combination of the two. If you only need the surface replaced and nothing reworked at the entrance, we'll tell you straight whether we're the right shop for it or whether a paving specialist will serve you better.
How long does a driveway entrance project take?
Most driveway entrance builds run 2 to 4 weeks on site once the dig starts. Plan on another 3 to 6 weeks before that for design, permits, and materials. Column stone and custom gates run longer. Bigger front-of-house projects do too. The Howald build in Acworth took eight weeks. At scope-lock you get a written schedule with the start date, the milestones, and the target finish. And a plan for where you park while we work.
Will it work with my existing gate, mailbox, or columns?
Depends on the bones. If the columns are sound and proportioned right for the house, we'll build around them and tie the new work in. If they're undersized, leaning, or built poorly, we'll tell you straight, and quote the rebuild as part of the project. Same for gates and mailboxes. We don't dress up bad bones, and we don't tear out what's worth keeping. See Hardscape & Patios for the stonework side.
Ready to walk the front of your property?
We'll stand at the curb with you and look at the house the way your guests do. Then you get a plan and one number for making that first look match the rest of it.
