Landscape design and install. One accountable team. Atlanta, GA.
We don't just build backyards. We plan them. Every project starts with a custom planning and design phase, so you can see the layout, weigh your options, and build with confidence. One company, first sketch to last planting.
Plenty of firms will sell you a design. We design AND build it.
Most full-yard projects fall apart at the handoff. A design firm draws a beautiful plan, hands you a bill, and walks away. Then you spend six months chasing contractors who price it three different ways and blame the drawings when something fails. By the time it's built, the yard barely resembles the plan you paid for.
That's why we manage both. Design, plantings, grading, irrigation, and install, coordinated by GreenTree. Our dedicated team builds from the agreed plan, and we manage the details between trades. You have one point of contact and one company responsible for seeing the whole yard through.

What booking a walkthrough actually gets you.
Four steps. No surprises. The same process on every job we run.
Walkthrough
We come out, walk the property, listen, and tell you honestly what's possible at what range. No high-pressure sale. No deposit asked for at the curb.
Fixed plan
On a full-yard project, this step is the design phase. You get drawings, a planting plan, materials, a written scope, and a fixed price. The crew builds from that same plan. You see and approve it before anything breaks ground. What you approve on paper is what shows up in the yard.
Build
Our crew, on site daily. One project lead reachable by phone. GreenTree coordinates the grading, planting, and installation from the agreed plan, so adjustments are handled with the people doing the work.
Finish + warranty
Final walkthrough with you on the property. Written workmanship coverage and a plant warranty on the install. One phone number for the life of the project if anything needs attention.
GreenTree exists because the same story kept repeating across Atlanta yards. A homeowner pays a designer for a plan, then pays a builder who wants to change it. So we built one company that does both, staffed with people who answer the phone.
The slow way is the only way that lasts. Beds laid out for the way the sun actually moves across the yard. Grading that pulls water away from the house. Plantings sized for what they'll be in five years, not what fits the photo on install day. We'd rather lose the job to a faster bid than build something we'd have to come back and rip out.
What sits inside Landscape Design & Installation at GreenTree.
If it's on the plan, GreenTree manages the work through our dedicated team and trusted partners.
Full-Yard Design
Start with what you want to do outside and what is not working now. The plan brings gathering spaces, paths, planting, and changes in level together. You can review the layout, materials, and scope before committing to the build.
Planting Plans
Plant choices need to fit the light, available space, and care you want to give them. Mature size matters: a small plant beside a path will not stay small forever. Beds should fit the finished landscape as they grow.
Grading
Changing the grade can make space more usable and help direct surface water. It also affects walls, steps, and planting. Our Fulton County backyard project shows tiered walls and gathering spaces brought together on a slope.
Irrigation
Think about where water is needed and what is already in place. New beds and changes to the lawn can affect an existing system. Irrigation should be considered alongside the planting layout and any hardscape that could limit access later.
Landscape Installation
The drawings, material choices, and written scope give the build a shared starting point. GreenTree coordinates the work and the people involved. For a whole-yard project, that means considering the hardscape, drainage, and planting together.
What people ask before they book.
How much does a full landscape renovation cost in the Atlanta area?
Full-yard projects start at $20,000. Most land between $40,000 and $150,000, and builds that add hardscape, grading, irrigation, and lighting run toward the top of that range. Yard size, regrading, planting density, and irrigation scope drive the number. If the budget is $5,000 for a few new shrubs, we're not the right call, and we'll point you to someone who is.
How long does a full backyard renovation take?
Plan on 6 to 12 weeks on site once the dig starts. Design, permits, and material lead times add 4 to 8 weeks before that. Weather moves it. At scope-lock you get a written schedule with the start date, the milestones, and the target finish. You're never left wondering what week it is or who's coming.
Do you do design only, or design AND install?
Both, together, every time. We don't sell a plan and walk away. We don't build someone else's drawings either. Every GreenTree project runs design and install as one job, one contract, one point of contact from walkthrough to warranty.
What's the difference between a landscape designer and a landscape installer?
A landscape designer draws the plan. Site analysis, layout, planting list, hardscape concept. A landscape installer builds it. Grading, plantings, irrigation, lighting. Most companies are one or the other, so homeowners end up managing two contractors who never talk. GreenTree manages both design and installation, coordinating our dedicated team from the plan through the finished build. That's the whole reason the company exists.
Do I see plans before construction starts?
Yes, always. After the walkthrough you get drawings, a planting plan, materials, and a written scope with a fixed price. You mark it up and approve it before a single shovel goes in. The design phase is also where honest advice earns its keep. Courtney needed a retaining wall that would have blown her budget, so we proposed building up the yard instead. Same function, better number. No quiet substitutions, no invented extras.
What's the difference between a landscape designer and a landscape architect?
A landscape architect is state-licensed for structural and commercial-grade site work. Think permitted civil engineering, public spaces, or major drainage engineering. A landscape designer works at residential scale. Plantings, layout, hardscape concept, full backyard builds. For the full-yard work GreenTree does in Marietta, East Cobb, and Roswell, design-and-build is the right structure. If your project truly needs a licensed architect, we'll tell you up front.
